A Guide to Renting Office Space in

Acton

As it has shifted from an economy of heavy industry to one which attracts a diverse selection of high-tech and media focussed companies, Acton has become a reasonably priced and increasingly trendy alternative to some of the more central London locations.

Location

Acton is located in the Ealing borough in West London and covers zones two and three geographically. Acton is a large area with a variety of amenities on offer, with Acton High Street being a particular draw due to its array of shops and themed pubs. Though not one of the most fashionable London areas, it is arguably more affordable and offers much in the way of diversity and community. Aside from the usual amenities, there is also a popular supermarket and a street market three times a week, offering food, crafts, books, clothes and gifts. Neighbouring areas include Ealing, Harlesden, Park Royal and Shepherds Bush.

Getting around

RailwayTransport connections in Acton are very convenient and will allow you to get around with ease. There is one mainline station, specifically the Acton Main Line, and being such a large area means that there are plenty of tube stations to access; Acton Central, Acton Town, Ealing Broadway, North Acton, East Acton, South Acton and West Acton. Acton is the only area of London to have seven stations bearing the area's name, and the Acton Main Line will be a part of the Crossrail, a new East-West route across Greater London, when it is completed.

Several of London’s bus routes come through the area as well, including the 7 and the N207. For the environmentally conscious, an increasingly important aspect of living in London, a new cycle hub is being developed opposite North Acton Station that will hold up to 50 bikes. Acton also has various enjoyable walk and cycle paths for you to take, and the easy access to Central London makes it a popular area to live.

Office space in Acton

Compared to other areas in London, Acton is one of the cheaper areas to rent office space, though the price range is incredibly varied. The lowest rates available are rather attractive, especially to startup businesses.

Acton’s history is very interesting as it used to be one of the largest concentrations of industry in the South of England. There was a particular focus on the automobile industry, but these heavy industry aspects have become less and less as time has gone on. During the 50s, this sort of industry was moved out of the Acton area and there was a notable decline in trade.

Acton is home to the Acton Business Centre, a bustling and thriving site that offers space for both light-industrial and office-based business and industry. These days, there has been a shift in which these traditional heavy industries have been replaced by lighter-industry and media-based businesses. Office space in the area is decidedly modern and cutting edge, with many crucial amenities provided in the rental price for your convenience.

Acton is already home to various well-known businesses, including Edward Jones, Domino’s Pizza, Roche Bros. Supermarkets, AMD, Friendly’s Ice Cream, Apps Associates and Acton Medical Associates. There are a lot of smaller and growing businesses in the area, unlike areas like King's Cross that have a strong focus on big business and large corporate presences. More and more businesses are taking up office space in the Acton area. As mentioned previously it is a good area for smaller businesses focused around media and light-industry.

Among the lowest rates for offices is 112-114 North Acton Road, which is available for £150 each month for each person. Rylett Studios is at the higher end of the scale, at £499.
